Sherry’s holistic background in wellness includes 17 years of experience working in the healthcare field and certification as a Tai Chi instructor, and she takes an integrative approach to physical and mental health. She incorporates Adlerian, Narrative, Mindfulness, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) concepts into her approach, using psychoeducation to help you understand yourself and life.
Sherry’s clients appreciate her kindness, sense of humor, enthusiasm, and casual style. Clients often remark that they were ready to give up on therapy — or afraid to try it — until meeting Sherry, who welcomes people who often feel excluded with warmth and professionalism. Her interests include interpersonal/communication skills, relationships, women’s issues, sexuality, physical health issues, chronic pain, disability, life transitions, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, spirituality, and creativity. Sherry is LGBTQ+-knowledgeable and takes a sex-positive and non-judgmental approach to gender and sexual diversity. She especially appreciates working with the overlapping and diverse cultural communities of kink, non-monogamy, Paganism, and geek. In her personal time, Sherry enjoys nerdy stuff, crafting, physical activity (such as hiking and canoeing), and collaborating creatively and professionally with her husband of over 20 years.
